Mamie Taylor is committed to transforming our schools into centers of excellence by focusing on facilitating higher student academic outcomes and enhancing the climate and culture within our schools. She prioritizes school autonomy and competitive pay for all staff to attract and retain top talent which she demonstrated by enacting the RPS Salary Decompression Policy. She also envisions a stronger, more unified board for better governance. Mamie aims to improve our facilities and infrastructures, ensuring they meet the needs of our students and staff. She is dedicated to advancing literacy for all students and has encouraged early education programs including putting into policy the Kindergarten early admission program. She is focused on reducing class sizes for a more personalized education, and providing greater and more equitable access to arts, electives, and specialized programs. By fostering stronger more unified board relationships and creating policies that bring Richmond Public Schools to full accreditation, Mamie Taylor is dedicated to building a brighter future for our children and our city.
